Description

Recorded in California with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, The All-American Rejects) 'Black & White' sees The Maine stepping out of their comfort zone and creating a cohesive body of work that is an 'album' in the most traditional sense of the word.

'This time we really wanted to focus on the songwriting and make sure all the songs were great so no matter where on the disc you are you can tell it's an album instead of a bunch of songs that are thrown together, you know?' Kirch explains. From unexpectedly dark pop gems like 'Inside Of You' to nostalgic summertime ballads like 'Growing Up,' each track on 'Black & White' defies categorization yet still retains the signature sound that has endeared The Maine to fans around the world.

Summary: "A step up"

I loved the Maine's debut CD as well as their previous EPs but this album was a rung above all of those. They really matured for this album while keeping a certain distinctiveness. This album reminded me a lot of A Rocket To The Moon's sound but they are still set apart from them. The depth of the lyrics alone is more than any other previous songs while still being catchy. Their best work to date.

This is by far the best album The Maine has put out. They have matured so much from their best albums, and found the sound they always wanted, and it fits perfectly for them. Everyone should grab a copy, I'm sure you will all LOVE it!

Summary: "Best album yet by this band"

They were very wise to team up with Howard Benson for this release. The songs are abundantly catchy and extremely well produced. I like this much better than All American Rejects' last one.
